Having been diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy in 1997, I understand fully the impact that being diagnosed with a Cardiomyopathy can have on an individual and their family.
I also understand how difficult it can be to also try and arrange Life cover once you have been diagnosed with a Cardiomyopathy, or even if you have a family history of Cardiomyopathy but may be free of any signs of the illness yourself!
Mainstream Insurance companies have very different attitudes to underwriting Cardiomyopathies, further complicated if you also have an ICD fitted (I am on number 3). Their different underwriting criteria means that often they will assess the risk that a client poses to them when applying for Life cover, whilst having a Cardiomyopathy, very differently with the result that the level of monthly premium offered can be quite different.
Obviously when you have an illness such as Cardiomyopathy, you will not qualify for personal Life cover on normal, or standard rates which are usually very similar cost and there is often only a few pence difference between the Insurance companies. However when an Insurer applies an extra loading to cover their perceived additional risk in offering cover to an individual with Cardiomyopathy, the difference between costs offered by the Insurers can be quite dramatic, and with many plans set up to run for years, the amount of extra money someone could find themselves paying can easily run into £000’s of pounds!
As an Independent Financial Adviser I have for many years strived to achieve the very best value for any clients that ask me to help them arrange their Life cover after they have been diagnosed with a Cardiomyopathy. I have a very good understanding of the Insurance Industry underwriting criteria when it comes to trying to arrange Life cover whilst diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy, and through my work alongside the Cardiomyopathy UK charity since 2010, I have developed a good understanding of Cardiomyopathy.
I am therefore able to utilise my Insurance knowledge of which Insurers are more likely to consider an application for Life cover from someone with Cardiomyopathy, and also what those Insurers are likely to charge if they feel able to offer cover. This means the lowest premiums, and please consider that even something as random as your age when diagnosed, or your current age can mean vastly different premium quotes from different Insurance Companies!
I am here to help if you are serious about arranging Life cover, and all the costs for my work can be met by the Insurance companies if I am successful in arranging cover for you. For every case that I am successful in arranging cover for, I also make a donation to the Cardiomyopathy UK charity.
Please note, I cannot guarantee success for every case, but for those cases that I do get to application stage, I have a very good success rate in getting my clients the cover they need. I also manage to place my clients cover with mainstream Insurers rather than the specialist market wherever possible, which can also mean even greater financial savings.
